Abilene man with outstanding warrants leads county deputies in pursuit, attempts to punch officer

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man was arrested Monday afternoon, sometime after he refused to stop when Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies attempted to stop him in his vehicle.

According to TCSO, Isaac Rubio Escobedo, of Abilene, lost control of his vehicle at the 3200 block of Beltway South, then fled officers on foot. It was reported that Escobedo also tried to “hit” a running state trooper.

TCSCO agents were ultimately able to arrest Escobedo on the following charges:

  • (Taylor County) Motion to Revoke Probation (MTR) on Forgery Charges – $30,000 Bail
  • (Taylor County) MTR Aggravated Assault – $30,000 bond
  • (Hood County) Possession of a controlled substance – $10,000 bond

In addition to its outstanding warrants, TCSO said it would charge Escobedo with the following:

  • Assault on an official
  • Avoid arrest in a motor vehicle
  • Escape arrest on foot

Escobedo is being held in the Taylor County Jail, with bail amounts to be set later.
