A student stabbed in a university in Paris, a man arrested

A young woman was stabbed on Wednesday at Paris-Cité University, boulevard Saint-Germain, in the center of the capital, and her alleged attacker arrested, said a source familiar with the matter, confirming information of the Parisian.
The Paris prosecutor’s office has confirmed that an investigation for attempted murder has been opened and entrusted to the judicial police (3rd district) and that a man has been taken into custody. The victim’s vital prognosis is engaged, he said, adding that he had seized the Paris Aid for Victims association.
“Following the assault of one of our students on the Saint-Germain-des-Prés campus, the university is in shock,” tweeted the establishment. “The medico-psychological emergency cell of the Paris SAMU is on site”. The young woman was stabbed with a knife as she was leaving an elevator around noon, a police source said. It would be a private dispute, according to the first elements of the investigation.
