A security guard is dragged by a truck as he tries to apprehend the thief of a three-foot foam carrot

A mall security guard was dragged by a getaway truck as he tried to apprehend the suspected thief of a giant foam carrot.

Pennsylvania police say the suspect ran after nipping the carrot from the Easter display at Clearview Mall in the town of Butler.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to the mall after the giant carrot was reported stolen and the security guard said he chased the suspect into a dark red Chevy truck in the parking lot .

Police say when the security guard tried to open the door of the truck, he was dragged for about a quarter of a mile at speeds of up to 35 mph.

The goalkeeper was not injured in the incident.

“Luckily he is fine and injury free,” Clearview General Manager Mandy DeSantis told WPXI.

After an anonymous tip, police eventually found the stolen item from a home in Chicora, Pennsylvania.

Officials say two men, aged 20 and 18, confessed to taking the carrot. Neither man has been arrested, but state police say charges will be brought against them, reports The eagle butler.
