£300,000 on scratch card after shielding
A COUPLE ‘broke to tears’ when they found out they had won £300,000 on a scratch card after protecting themselves for almost two years.
Louisa Tomlinson described the win as ‘a dream come true’ after she and husband Greg endured ‘a really tough few years’ as she recovered from a stroke and treatment to fix a hole in his heart.
The duo, who have five children and have been married for 22 years, are now considering fulfilling their lifelong dream of buying their own home.
Louisa, 57, said: “I had just started a new job when I had a stroke, and while treating this the doctors discovered that I also had a hole in my heart.
“I haven’t worked since, and Greg, a qualified electrician, had to take part-time delivery work, so he was there to look after me while I recovered.
“I’ve always dreamed of owning our own home and to be honest, in the past 18 months I haven’t thought of anything other than browsing Rightmove to find the perfect little cottage.
“I knew we could never afford it, but daydreaming kept me entertained while I shielded myself…it really is a dream come true.”
