100,000 registered to vote in the environmentalists primary – France

While those who wish to participate in the designation of the environmental candidate for the presidential election of 2022 have until Sunday, September 12, at midnight; to register on the site for primary school, the 100,000 participants mark was reached around 6 pm.

Five candidates in the running

The first round of the primary will take place from September 16 to 19. It must decide between five candidates: the MEP Yannick Jadot, the mayor of Grenoble Éric Piolle, the former vice-president of the Hauts-de-France region Sandrine Rousseau, the deputy and former socialist Minister of the Environment Delphine Batho and the entrepreneur Jean-Marc Governatori.

The record for participation in a primary of the Greens dates back to that of 2012. It had separated Nicolas Hulot and Eva Joly and had gathered 32,000 people. Eva Joly then won before suffering a severe failure in the first round of the presidential election that followed, collecting only 2.31% of the votes cast.
